Custom Caravan Mattresses

A tired caravan mattress goes soft in the middle, and you feel it in your lower back by the morning. The Comfisan™ is built around support. Its springy top layer (Vita Reflex™) cushions the places that ache while holding your back in line, and pushes straight back as you move rather than letting you sink in. The firm base beneath keeps that support even from edge to edge, so the sides don't give way when you sit down to put your shoes on.

It's also the easiest of the range to live with. It's one-sided, so you'll never have to turn it, and it works just as well on a fixed bed as on an adjustable base.

Ideal for:

• Anyone whose back aches by the morning
• Anyone who finds memory foam too soft, or too slow to come back
• Anyone who wants cushioning that doesn't let them sink in
• Adjustable beds — it flexes with the base

Available Depths

Every depth comes in Medium-firm or Hard. Not sure which to go for? Ring us and we'll talk it through.

We make the foam to the measurements you provide; the mattress cover then adds a centimetre or two to the finished size.

If your bed sits in a tight recess, or you'd like room for tucking in bedding, we recommend reducing your measurements though this remains a personal preference.

• Free delivery to most addresses in England, Scotland, and Wales
• Rolled and vacuum-packed in a 158 × 39 × 39 cm box, so it comes through the door in one piece

Will I have to turn it?

No. It's made to be slept on one side only, and that side is marked. And because it's made to the shape of your bed, it isn't meant to be turned round either — it only fits one way.

Why does the Comfisan™ have a fixed cover?

There's no zip to wear out or split, so it lasts longer. Sponge it clean, and a mattress protector will save you most of that.

How long does a rolled mattress take to expand?

Usually 95% of its shape and size within the first hour or two. Sometimes it can take 24 hours or so to regain its shape fully.

What's included?

The mattress with its moisture-wicking cover (TENCEL™), care instructions, and a 5-year guarantee.

Is it suitable for adjustable beds?

Yes. It bends with the base without losing the firm support underneath you.

Caravan beds are firm, narrow and close together, and the foam that came with the van is usually thin and unforgiving. Stay a fortnight and you feel it in your hips and shoulders every morning. The Bodyshape™ is built to put that right. The memory foam on top (Vasco™) moulds to you and cushions the places that ache, while the layer beneath holds your back in line and soaks up movement.

That last part matters most when you're sleeping inches apart. Most people get up at least once in the night — the Bodyshape™ takes up that movement so it doesn't travel across the bed and wake the other of you.

Ideal for:

• Two of you in a narrow bed, where every movement carries
• Anyone who wakes with aching hips, shoulders or back
• Anyone who sleeps on their side and wants the bed to give a little
• Anyone who wants firm support underneath without losing the cushioning on top

How does the memory foam work?

It softens with your body heat and takes up your shape, so your weight spreads out instead of pressing down on your hips and shoulders.

Will I wake my partner getting up?

The foam takes up movement instead of passing it across the bed, so when one of you gets up in the night the other usually sleeps through it.

Is Firm comfortable for a long stay away?

Yes. Firm gives you more support underneath while the memory foam still cushions the top, so it stays comfortable whichever way you sleep.

If you can't stand the sinking, stuck-in-the-bed feeling of memory foam, the Novolatex™ is built for you. Its springy comfort layer (Laytec™) cushions the places that ache but pushes straight back as you shift, so you sleep on top of the mattress rather than in a dip. It's a firm favourite with anyone who moves about through the night, and with anyone who simply wants more life under them.

The foam is open-celled, so the heat you give off moves away instead of building up under you, the way it does in memory foam. Underneath, the support layer keeps your back in line right across the bed, so there's no dip where you lie.

Ideal for:

• Anyone who dislikes the sinking, slow-to-recover feel of memory foam
• Anyone who moves about a lot through the night
• Anyone who wants more spring under them
• Anyone who wants firm support without losing the spring

How does the springy layer work?

It cushions you like any good top layer, but instead of holding the dent it lifts straight back. That's what gives it the spring, and it's why you don't feel pinned in place.

What difference does the spring make?

Turning over takes no effort, and the bed doesn't feel sluggish under you. The foam is more open than memory foam too, so it doesn't hold onto heat the same way.

Is Firm comfortable for a long stay away?

Yes. Firm gives you more support underneath while the top layer still cushions and springs back, so it stays comfortable whichever way you sleep.
