   Tufting buttons the layers down onto the spring unit to set the tension and stop the fillings shifting. The Medium is half-tufted, keeping its surface smooth; the Firm and Hard are fully tufted, drawing the buttons right through for the traditional dimpled surface and a firmer feel.

6. 2000 Pocket Spring System

   Two thousand individually wrapped springs that move on their own, flexing to your body and your partner's separately — responsive, supportive, and naturally breathable in a way solid foam can't match.

7. A firm edge you can sit on

   The edges are built firmer than the middle, so they don't give way. You can sit on the side to dress and push up from it to stand, and you can sleep right out to the edge without rolling off.

The Medium is our softer, more cushioned build — half-tufted, which sets a gentler tension while keeping the surface smooth. The Firm and Hard are fully tufted, giving the traditional dimpled surface and firmer support.

Most caravan mattresses are foam all the way through. This one isn't. Underneath sit two thousand individually wrapped pocket springs — the same thing you'd find in a good bed at home — and that's what gives it the feel of a proper mattress rather than a foam pad. Above the springs, memory foam moulds to you and a cool-gel layer keeps it fresh, under a soft cashmere-blend cover.

Every spring moves on its own, so the bed supports you where you need it and movement stays on your side. When one of you gets up in the night, the other stays asleep. The edge is built firm so you can sit on it to put your shoes on and push up from it to stand. It should still be firm in ten years.

If your bed sits in a tight recess, or you'd like room for tucking in bedding, we recommend reducing your measurements though this remains a personal preference.

Will I have to turn it?

No. It's made to be slept on one side only, and that side is marked. Just turn it head-to-foot now and again.

How long does a rolled mattress take to expand?

Two to four hours — the springs are ready straight away. Give it a day or two to settle fully.
