It's a responsive comfort layer that rebounds faster than memory foam, giving a spring-like bounce back while still cushioning pressure points.

What's the benefit of that springy feel?

You move and turn over more freely, and the bed feels lively rather than sluggish. Because the foam is more open than dense memory foam, it also tends not to trap heat in the same way.
