Your Surface: Smooth or Dimpled?
Every Imperial Elite™ 2000 is tufted — the buttoning that sets the spring tension and locks the fillings in place. How we tuft depends on the firmness you choose, and it changes how the top of the mattress looks and feels:
Seven Layer Construction
A proper sprung bed, made to fit your caravan. Two thousand pocket springs under memory foam and a breathable top layer, tufted the way a proper bed is.
-
Soft cashmere-blend cover
Soft to the touch, kind to the skin, and it holds its shape for years rather than going baggy.
-
Breathable comfort layer that carries the heat away (Revoβ’)
It carries the heat away from you, so it sleeps fresh instead of warming up under you. In testing, thirty times more air moves through it than through a premium memory foam mattress.
-
Memory foam that moulds to you (Vascoβ’60)
It takes up your shape so your hips and shoulders stop carrying the weight, and it soaks up movement so a partner turning over doesn't wake you.
-
Transition Foam Layer
Blends the soft foam comfort layers smoothly into the spring system below, so there's no abrupt change in feel. Featured in the Firm and Hard variants.
-
Tufted Construction
Tufting buttons the layers down onto the spring unit to set the tension and stop the fillings shifting. The Medium is half-tufted, keeping its surface smooth; the Firm and Hard are fully tufted, drawing the buttons right through for the traditional dimpled surface and a firmer feel.
-
2000 Pocket Spring System
Two thousand individually wrapped springs that move on their own, flexing to your body and your partner's separately β responsive, supportive, and naturally breathable in a way solid foam can't match.
-
Foam surround that holds the spring unit in place
The spring unit sits inside a foam surround. It holds every spring in position, and it is what lets us build a sprung mattress to the shape of your bed β corners, tapers and all. Most makers cannot.
A hand was held on each foam, then lifted off. These are heat pictures of what it left behind — red is warm, blue is cool.
A minute on, the memory foam is still holding the heat. Ours has let it go. That is what we mean when we say it sleeps cooler. Heat pictures by The Vita Group, who make the foam for us.
Why Choose Imperial Eliteβ’ 2000?
Most caravan mattresses are foam all the way through. This one isn't. Underneath sit two thousand individually wrapped pocket springs β the same thing you'd find in a good bed at home β and that's what gives it the feel of the bed you sleep in at home. Above the springs, memory foam moulds to you and a breathable layer keeps it fresh, under a soft cashmere-blend cover.
Every spring moves on its own, so the bed supports you where you need it and movement stays on your side. When one of you gets up in the night, the other stays asleep. It should still be firm in ten years — which is what the guarantee says.
Ideal for:
- Anyone who wants the caravan bed to feel like the one at home
- Two of you in one bed β when one gets up, the other stays asleep
- Anyone who prefers springs to foam
- Anyone who wants a ten-year guarantee on their bed

Measuring Guide
We make the foam to the measurements you provide; the mattress cover then adds a centimetre or two to the finished size.
If your bed sits in a tight recess, or you'd like room for tucking in bedding, we recommend reducing your measurements though this remains a personal preference.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will I have to turn it?
- No. It's made to be slept on one side only, and that side is marked. And because it's made to the shape of your bed, it isn't meant to be turned round either β it only fits one way.
- What makes this the top of the range?
- It's the only one we make with springs in it. Two thousand of them, under memory foam, a breathable top layer and a cashmere-blend cover. Nothing else we make sleeps like it.
- How do 2000 pocket springs improve comfort?
- Each one moves on its own, so the bed holds you where you need holding and movement doesn't travel across it. When one of you gets up, the other stays asleep.
- What is the cashmere-blend cover like?
- Soft, smooth and kind to the skin. On the Medium it's half-tufted, so the top stays flat; on the Firm and Hard it's fully tufted, giving the traditional dimpled surface. Either way it holds its finish for years.
- How long does a rolled mattress take to expand?
- Usually 95% of its shape and size within the first hour or two. Sometimes it can take 24 hours or so to regain its shape fully.
- What's included?
- The mattress with its cashmere-blend cover, care instructions, and a 10-year guarantee.
- Is this the most supportive one you make?
- Yes. The 2000-spring build is the strongest thing we make. If you're not sure it's the right one, ring us and we'll talk it through.
