Browse All Caravan Mattress Shapes

We manufacture 62 different replacement mattress shapes for touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans, and boats. Every shape is custom-made to measure in our Birmingham factory. Select your size above to get started.

Rectangular Caravan Mattresses

Standard rectangular replacement caravan mattresses for bunk beds, pull-out beds, side dinettes, and fixed bed layouts. The most versatile shape, suitable for nearly all touring caravan sleeping arrangements where a simple rectangle fits the bed frame.

Island Bed Caravan Mattresses

Replacement island bed mattresses for touring caravans with rear island bed layouts. These feature curved or rounded foot-ends to fit around the bed frame and maximise floor space. Popular with Bailey Unicorn, Swift Elegance, Elddis Crusader, Buccaneer, and Coachman VIP owners. Made to measure for any make, model, or year.

Caravan Mattresses with Splits (Multi-Piece)

Split caravan mattresses in two, three, or more pieces. Perfect for caravans, motorhomes, and boats where the mattress needs to fold for transport, hinge for storage access, or stack away when converting from bed to seating. You choose exactly where the split goes during checkout.

Boat Mattresses

Custom boat mattresses including V-berth designs for forward cabins, hull-shaped mattresses that follow curved hull walls, and nonagon shapes for unusual cabin layouts. Made to measure for narrowboats, canal boats, sailing yachts, motor cruisers, and Dutch barges. All boat mattresses feature moisture-resistant materials suitable for marine environments.

Special Shape Mattresses

Specialist mattress shapes for unusual sleeping arrangements including circular round beds, HGV lorry cabs for professional drivers, and completely custom designs. If you have a bed that doesn't fit any standard category, we can make a mattress to match any shape you can draw.

Bespoke Atlas Static Caravan Mattresses

Atlas Leisure Homes has been building static caravans in Hull since 1973 — over fifty years of production means there are tens of thousands of Atlas holiday homes sited on parks across the country. From the Moonstone that won Caravan of the Year in 2003 to the current Debonair and Heritage flagships, Atlas has always been one of the most recognisable names in the UK holiday home market. That popularity is precisely why we make so many replacement Atlas mattresses. Whether yours is a brand-new Heritage on a premium coastal park or a twenty-year-old Festival in a letting fleet, the factory mattress will eventually need replacing — and a standard shop-bought mattress almost certainly will not fit.

Why Atlas Beds Are Not Standard Sizes

Atlas describes the master bed in models like the Heritage and Debonair as a king size, and it is — but not in the way a bed shop would define it. A standard UK king mattress is 150cm by 200cm. In a static caravan, the bedroom is narrower and shorter than a domestic room, so the bed is typically trimmed to fit the available space. An Atlas "king" might be 150cm by 190cm, or 145cm by 190cm, or occasionally something else entirely depending on the model, the year, and the caravan width. The difference is small enough that people try to squeeze a shop-bought king onto the base, and large enough that it either overhangs the platform or leaves gaps at the edges. Neither is acceptable.

The same problem applies to twin bedrooms. Atlas twin beds are often narrower than a standard UK single at 90cm. On a 10ft-wide model, the singles might be 75cm or even 60cm wide to leave enough corridor space between the beds. These widths do not correspond to any off-the-shelf mattress. You need one made to measure.

The Width Factor — 10ft, 12ft, and 13ft

Atlas builds in three widths, and the width of the caravan directly determines the width of the beds inside it. A 10ft-wide Festival has noticeably smaller bedrooms than a 12ft-wide Heritage, and the newer 13ft-wide models like the Heritage 6 and Debonair 11 have more generous proportions again. If you are replacing a mattress in an older 10ft Atlas, expect compact dimensions that will not match anything from your nearest bed shop. On a 13ft model, the master bed may be closer to a genuine domestic king — but you still need to measure, because "closer" is not "identical".

Atlas were actually one of the first manufacturers to produce 12ft-wide static caravans back in the late 1980s, so many of the older second-hand Atlas units on parks today are 12ft models from the 1990s and 2000s. The bed sizes in these vintage units have their own quirks — they predate the current model numbering system and the dimensions are not published anywhere online. Measuring the bed platform is the only reliable method.

Current Atlas Models

The 2025 Atlas range is extensive. At the top sit the Debonair and Status — the Debonair 11 has a country-house interior with a king-size bed, en-suite, and freestanding furniture, available across seven layout variations in 12ft and 13ft widths from 36ft to 40ft long. The Status has a lift-up king-size bed with storage underneath, which is relevant for mattress replacement because the gas struts are calibrated for the original mattress weight. Going heavier — say from a 15cm foam to a 25cm pocket-sprung — may require the struts to be upgraded.

The Heritage sits just below, again with a king-size bed and seven layouts across 12ft and 13ft widths. The Chorus is the popular mid-range family model with open-plan living and an L-shaped sofa. The Mirage and Festival are the entry and mid-level models, both widely used on letting parks where mattresses take a harder beating from frequent guest use. The Onyx, Amethyst, Adventure, Florida, Moonstone, and Fanfare round out the current range, each with slightly different bedroom proportions.

All two-bedroom models have a double or king master bed and a twin room with two singles. Three-bedroom models add a further twin. Most models also have a pull-out sofa bed in the lounge — another mattress that often gets forgotten when owners are upgrading.

Letting Caravans — When the Mattress Has Had Enough

A significant number of Atlas caravans on UK parks are used for holiday letting rather than private ownership. That means the mattress gets used by different people every week through the season — sometimes for ten or fifteen years before anyone thinks to replace it. By that point, the foam has compressed, the cover is stained despite protectors, and the springs (if it had any) have lost their tension. If you manage letting units, replacing the mattresses is one of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make. It improves guest reviews, reduces complaints, and extends the usable life of the caravan on park.

We supply replacement mattresses for individual Atlas owners and for parks running fleets. If you are replacing mattresses across multiple units, call us and we can discuss volume pricing.

What We Recommend

For privately owned Atlas caravans where comfort is the priority, our CoolPlus™ cool gel mattress at 20cm or Imperial Elite™ 2000 pocket sprung at 25cm are both excellent upgrades. The CoolPlus™ is particularly good for holiday homes that sit closed up between visits — the gel layer does not retain heat the way standard memory foam can when you first arrive and the caravan is warm. For lift-up beds in the Status, we recommend staying at 20cm depth unless you have confirmed clearance and strut capacity.

For letting fleets where durability matters as much as comfort, the Bodyshape™ memory foam at 15cm to 20cm is the best balance of quality and value. It holds up well under frequent use, does not need turning, and recovers its shape between guests.

For twin-room singles and pull-out sofa beds, we make thinner mattresses at 10cm to 15cm to suit the shallower bed frames and folding mechanisms.

Atlas Models We Cover

We make replacement mattresses for every Atlas model, current and discontinued. The current range includes the Debonair, Debonair Access, Heritage, Status, Chorus, Onyx, Amethyst, Adventure, Mirage, Festival, Moonstone, Florida, and Fanfare, plus the Debonair Lodge and Laburnum Lodge twin-unit ranges. Older models we regularly supply include the Concept, Everglade, Image, Lakeland, Oakwood, Pisces, Sahara, Style, and dozens more going back to the 1980s. If Atlas built it, we can make a mattress for it.

Give us the model name, the caravan size in feet, and the number of bedrooms. If you can measure the bed platform as well, even better — but we have dimensions on file for most Atlas layouts. Call us on 0121 663 6114 and we will get you sorted.
