Picking a Size Equal to or Larger Than Your Mattress Your task is to pick the size that's equal to or larger than your mattress's longest and widest parts. This is important because it determines the price.
Island Mattress Example Walkthrough Let's walk through an example. Let's say you need a custom 'island' mattress. This type of mattress requires specific measurements to ensure it fits well.
Inputting Measurements on Our Website Start by scrolling down to our Measurement Guide. You'll see an image that points out where to measure your mattress - marked as points A, B, C, and D.
Take measurements at these points on your mattress. For example, you might find that the widest part measures 133cm, and the longest part measures 180cm. With your measurements in hand, return to the website and look at our size options. In this case, you'd select 'Double', since it covers mattresses up to 137cm wide and 192cm long, which fits your measurements.
Next, pick your desired mattress type and firmness level. In Step 3, you'll input all the measurements you've taken. You can type them into the measurement box however you like. These are the dimensions we use to customise your mattress to the perfect shape and size.
Ordering Your New Custom-Sized Island Mattress Once that's done, click on the 'Add to Cart' button and proceed to checkout. And just like that, you've successfully chosen and ordered your new custom-sized island mattress! Give yourself a pat on the back and look forward to many great nights of sleep.
2. How to Accurately Measure Your Island Mattress for a Perfect Fit
2.1 Understanding 'Island' Mattresses and Their Unique Shape First, let's clarify what an 'island' mattress is. This unique mattress type features a distinctive sweeping curve that starts about two-thirds down its length, extending from the left to the right side of the mattress.
2.2 Identifying Key Points on Your 'Island' Mattress Your 'island' mattress has five key points, four of which need to be measured carefully: Points A, B, C, and D.
Points A and B represent the width and length of the mattress, respectively. The other points, marked with red dots in the illustration, help you identify the curve start line, its midpoint, and the curve end line.
2.3 Guide to Measuring the Width and Length of Your Mattress Measure the width of your mattress (A). This should be the widest part of your mattress. Similarly, measure the overall length of the mattress, from the very top to the very bottom (B).
2.4 Identifying the Curve Start Line The Curve Start Line is an imaginary horizontal line across your mattress, marking the start of the curve. It typically begins about two-thirds down the length of the mattress. In our illustration, the start and end points of this line are marked with red dots for your convenience.
2.5 Finding the Midpoint of the Curve Start Line The midpoint is the exact central point along the Curve Start Line. It's marked with a red dot in our illustration.
2.6 Measuring the Curve Depth From the midpoint of the Curve Start Line, measure straight down to the furthest edge of the curve at the foot of the mattress. This measurement gives you the depth of the curve (D).
2.7 Measuring the Length Above the Curve Measure the distance from the top of the mattress down to the Curve Start Line, which we will call Measurement C, but exclude the curve depth. Adding Measurement C to the curve depth will give you the total overall length, which should match Length (B).
2.8 Importance of Accurate Measurements Accurate measurements ensure your new 'island' mattress will be a perfect fit. Please measure carefully, as these dimensions directly influence the price of your custom mattress.
Happy Measuring!
